Magic Kingdom is truly one of the most magical places on Earth, especially at night.

From dusk until the park closes, you’ll see some amazing views around Magic Kingdom. While the park is certainly beautiful during the day, it’s extra special when all the shimmering lights come on. Take a look around you and take it all in while you’re there at night, and you’ll feel truly part of the magic that is Disney World. But while the moon is out and the accent lighting is on, you’ll find us in Fantasyland, but not just for the ambiance. Nope, we’ll be there for a much more exciting reason!
Yes, Fantasyland at night is just as beautiful as the rest of the park. The carousel is all lit up and you get a great view of the castle. But as much as we enjoy this area for it’s pretty lighting, we love it even more around the times of 8-9PM (depending on the time of year).

Between 8 and 9PM, Magic Kingdom will host its very special fireworks display above Cinderella Castle! During this nighttime show, Main Street, U.S.A. and the hub (the area right in front of the castle) are packed with viewers. So if you want to see the show with fewer people around you, grab a snack, pull up a seat at Gaston’s Tavern, and enjoy the view from behind the castle!

From here, you can still see the fireworks in the sky and you likely won’t have to fight with a huge crowd around you for standing or sitting space. In fact, you might get to see the whole show while sitting down, which is not something that happens too often from the front of the castle!

However, there is a bit of a downside to watching the fireworks from back here. You will miss out on the castle projections that go along with the fireworks. If you typically just focus on the fireworks anyway, then this might not be an issue for you! And if you just want less people around you and aren’t worried about seeing the projections, then you should definitely check out this other viewing option.

The fireworks at Magic Kingdom are some of the best entertainment in Disney World! It’s certainly worth a watch from anywhere in the park. For the best view of the show in its entirety, including the projections, find a spot early in front of the castle or on Main Street, U.S.A. But other spots around the park, like in Fantasyland, have great views as well.
