I Go To Disney World Every Day. Here’s Why I Rope Drop the PEOPLEMOVER. Yes, You Read That Right.

I go to Disney World nearly every day. It’s my job to be in one of the parks, at Disney Springs, or checking out one of the many hotels.

Sage at Magic Kingdom

I am an Annual Passholder and have been to the parks MANY times. Having so many trips under my belt, having done all the things there are to do at Disney World, and not being in a rush to conquer all the big-ticket attractions every time I go to the parks has its perks. That being said, I am NOT a morning person. Now, when I get to Disney World, my mornings at Magic Kingdom usually start with a trip around Tomorrowland on the Peoplemover! It might sound silly, but hear me out.

One of my favorite ways to start a Disney day is with something relaxing, often tranquil. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, it’s coffee at Creature Comforts and strolling through the Tree of Life Gardens. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it’s Trolley Car Café and sitting on a crate in Galaxy’s Edge (obviously people watching). At Epcot it’s Connections Café and vibing in World Celebration Gardens. BUT at Magic Kingdom, it’s Main Street Bakery and the Peoplemover. (If it wasn’t clear, I’m a Starbucks lover.)

PeopleMover POV

Obviously, waiting in line at Starbucks and having a relaxing morning isn’t the right call if you’re trying to optimize and do as much as you can in the park, but for me, it’s so worth it. It lets me muster up the energy I need to conquer the rest of the day (also I’m a new girl dad so I’m tired. Sue me. 😂). This is also the time that we (Emma, Quincy, and myself) like to gab. Gab time is essential for my team!

Honestly, relaxing Disney mornings are literally the best. If you have a chance to relax and not rush on your morning at Disney World, I highly recommend just enjoying the atmosphere and taking it all in with a cup of joe.  However, I do not recommend doing this if you’re trying to optimize every minute you have and get on the most popular rides.

Let’s be real for a minute: the people mover is not worth a long wait. As much as I love the people mover, it is literally a train ride above Tomorrowland. Will you get some pretty views and you go inside a couple of attractions to see it from above? Yes! But a lot of people may be disappointed if they wait in a long line and ride this. For example, my family. We waited 25 minutes, rode around Tomorrowland, but when they got off the said, “That’s it?”

We LOVE the PeopleMover, but it’s not worth a long line

Even though I love it, I would certainly call it a filler attraction. It’s something you’re doing in the interim while you’re waiting to ride the bigger more popular attractions. So riding these must-do filler attractions with little to no wait first thing in the morning makes them so much more worth it and so much more enjoyable.

So there ya have it. I love a relaxing, easygoing morning enjoying my coffee and riding the Peoplemover before I start my day. But I also love getting on rides like the Peoplemover early in the day before the wait goes up higher than its worth waiting in for them. I love it, but I also don’t want to wait 25 minutes to get on it. It is important to remember, though, that this is NOT a good game plan if you’re trying to take the greatest advantage of your time to ride the more exciting, popular rides.

I hope you get to enjoy a relaxing Disney morning, and keep following AllEars for more Disney tips and tricks!
