Do Yourself a Favor and AVOID the Free Water at These Magic Kingdom Restaurants

Magic Kingdom, we love you dearly, but we have to admit that you are majorly lacking on the dining game sometimes.

Magic Kingdom

Don’t get us wrong, we love the spring rolls in Adventureland, the delicious sweet treats at Gaston’s Tavern, and if you’re more of a basic theme park food person, the options at this park likely won’t be an issue, but if you’re looking for leveled up options, it’s hard to find them in this park. However, we are grateful that you can find free water cups at quick service locations, just like you can in the other parks…but we have to admit that there are some free water stations in this park and around Disney World that we HIGHLY recommend avoiding.

And these recommendations (or should we say anti-recommendations?) come straight from Breedlove, who is our free water KING. He knows what’s up when it comes to free water stations in Disney World, so know that this all comes from tons of personal experience!

Casey’s Corner

We love the Corn Dog Nuggets at Casey’s Corner, that much is true, but the free water here can be SKETCHY. It’s not always terrible, but we have gotten water from here a few times that actually makes us debate if we’d rather risk dehydration (aka, we’ll just get free water at the next quick service we come across).

Again, it’s hit or miss, but what we’d recommend if you’re really sensitive to the taste of the water is to only get one cup at first and give it a try. If you’re alright with it, then go back in and get cups for the rest of your group. If it’s not though, then you can already move on to the next location and plan to get some there instead.

Cosmic Ray’s

Now we’ll be honest, Breedlove has told us that this review comes from YEARS ago, but it was so bad he’s been scared to go back since. Breedlove called the water bottle refill station in Cosmic Ray’s “ghastly” when it was first installed, and he hasn’t risked it since.

Now, you may be saying, “well, that’s fine, I’ll just get it from the counter.” That’s true, but Breedlove doesn’t recommend that necessarily either. Why? Because it’s always SO CROWDED in here, and the restaurant often doesn’t have water cups or a jug already sitting out for guests, so you have to bother the extremely busy Cast Members. And sometimes, that’s just way too much and you’d rather just go to the next quick service location (which is likely the Lunching Pad, they have water there!).

So where SHOULD you get water? Breedlove’s favorite spots in Magic Kingdom are:

Friar’s Nook

We often think that the water bottle refill stations have better water because it’s more filtered. So if you see that as an option, we suggest grabbing water from there. Also, if you have a baby, the water at the baby care centers seem to be the best in the parks!
