We might sound like a broken record here, but the shoes you choose to wear to a theme park could make or break your day.

Wear the right shoes and you’re walking around in comfort all day, especially in Magic Kingdom where you will do a lot of walking. Wear the wrong shoes, though, and you’ll be limping before the first Festival of Fantasy parade and suffering from painful blisters. Trust us…we’ve been there and we’ve done the limp of shame back to my Disney World hotel room enough times to warn you about certain shoes.
Before we tell you what shoes NOT to wear to Magic Kingdom, we have to tell you about this! You can sign up for a FREE Amazon Prime trial right now!
So here are the shoes we’d warn you about wearing to Magic Kingdom.
New shoes
We get it — you’ve got some brand new shoes. Maybe you bought them JUST for Disney World. Maybe you’ve just been looking for an excuse to wear them, and you thought they’d be perfect for your day in Magic Kingdom. If you have never worn those shoes before, we’ll warn you that you might end up with sore and blistered feet.

Shoes need to be broken in before you do the kind of walking you will inevitably do at a theme park. So if you do get new shoes to take on your trip, wear them a few times first.
Flip Flops
Okay, we know our reporter, Myranda, will disagree with us, but most of us don’t think cheap flip flops are great for wearing in the parks.

They don’t protect your feet at all. They have no cushioning, and we’ll guarantee you’ll end up with a blister between your toes.

There are more comfortable sandals that you can choose from, so if you do want something that lets your feet air out, you’ll want to be a little pickier about the sandals you choose. Save the flip flops for the pool.
Converse
Okay, so we know a lot of folks love wearing their Chucks everywhere, and maybe you know something we don’t. But Converse sneakers have very little in the way of cushioning and support.

If you must wear your Converse sneakers, at least consider throwing in some insoles to add extra comfort (and maybe that’s the key to folks who love wearing them all the time).
Old Shoes
In comparison to new shoes, old shoes are also a bad idea. Sure, those shoes you’ve had for the past ten years that have made multiple trips to Disney World have held up well, but eventually, they do wear down.

You might discover the hard way that your old shoes have lost most of their support and cushioning: this lesson is often learned while walking around in Magic Kingdom. Ouch.
Heels
So we don’t think we need to say this, but heels are always a bad idea in Disney World. We will occasionally see folks in heels when DisneyBounding or during events like Dapper Day, but trust us, you will regret it later.

If you have a fancy dinner planned in Magic Kingdom (like at Be Our Guest or Cinderella’s Royal Table) and want to dress up, pack the heels in your day bag and change into them just before dinner. Your feet will thank you.
So…what shoes should I wear?!
Okay, okay, so now we’re going to tell you what shoes you SHOULD wear to Disney World and we have tons of suggestions. One of our favorites is the Hoka Women’s Clifton 9 Sneaker. Y’all, we just can’t stop recommending Hoka. They’re pricey, but they’re worth it.

These shoes have a ton of cushioning so your feet are well-protected plus they have great shock absorption. A comfy insole will make sure your feet stay comfortable even after a full day in Magic Kingdom.
We also love the Brooks Women’s Ghost Running/Walking Shoe for the very same reasons: great support and lots of cushioning. We also love all the colors this shoe comes in!

The midsole foam cushioning makes it feel like you’re walking on clouds all day long, too. They’re also shaped in a way that you’ll have a nice neutral stride, which also helps protect your legs and back, too.
We’re also big fans of the On Women’s Cloud 5 Sneakers, which are designed for comfortable everyday wear, even in Magic Kingdom! We like how they look, but even better, we also like how comfortable they are.

These shoes will keep your feet feeling fit all day, even after you walk MILES (and you will walk miles) all over Magic Kingdom.
Emma has had a few issues from over wearing these shoes, but if you are just in the parks for a week or so, they should be very comfy!

So we love all the different colors you can get for the Skechers Sport Women’s Loving Life Sneaker. Skechers are a brand we can always get behind because those memory foam insoles mean our feet stay comfy from park open to park close.

These are fun because they just slip on, but they also look very fashionable.
