Let’s get poppin’!
With Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party humming along, many of the yearly traditions associated with the special event are back in full swing. Trick-or-treat stops in Magic Kingdom, specialty snacks, guests in costume, Halloween attraction overlays, exclusive entertainment, merchandise, and – – of course – – two NEW popcorn buckets!
On our most recent trip to the Magic Kingdom for a party night, we picked up this year’s EXCLUSIVE Mickey’s Not-So-Scary bucket.
As has become a bit of an ongoing trend in recent years, the 2024 popcorn bucket is themed to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Specifically, this year’s bucket is modeled on Scary Teddy, complete with TEETH!
The popcorn bucket, which is available at select locations throughout the park, while supplies last with a limit of two per person, per transaction, is a full-body recreation of the character, with the popcorn itself housed inside the character’s mouth. Reaching into those teeth is just a wee bit creepy!
But beware: these popcorn buckets are POPULAR! Stands had sold out by 8:30 PM! Disney may restock each night or throughout the season, but we were surprised to see them gone so early in the night.
Released in 1993, the film has become a cult classic over the last three decades. The film “follows the misadventures of Jack Skellington, Halloweentown’s beloved pumpkin king, who has become bored with the same annual routine of frightening people in the “real world.” When Jack accidentally stumbles on Christmastown, all bright colors and warm spirits, he gets a new lease on life — he plots to bring Christmas under his control by kidnapping Santa Claus and taking over the role. But Jack soon discovers even the best-laid plans of mice and skeleton men can go seriously awry.”
In the film, Scary Teddy is the name given to a somewhat terrifying vampire doll that Jack Skellington — during the period when he’s disguised as Santa — sicks on a pair of children. The character has become one of the more popular in the film, appearing in merchandise, video games, and the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction overall.
This new Nightmare Before Christmas popcorn bucket and the new Mickey Pumpkin Popcorn Bucket are available exclusively at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Both buckets are $26 including your first scoop of popcorn.
