REVIEW: A NEW Passholder Exclusive Treat Just Arrived in Disney World

This month has seen a lot of new perks available for Disney World Annual Passholders. A new passholder lounge has opened in EPCOT, you can pick up an exclusive AP magnet, and take advantage of an increased dining discount.

Many of these perks are ending soon though, so make sure you take advantage of them soon! Additionally, Annual Passholders can pick up some exclusive treats like the Stitch Cake Cone in EPCOT and a new exclusive sundae in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! 

Over at Hollywood Scoops, you can find an Annual Passholder Exclusive ice cream sundae. It is called the Lightning McQueen Ice Cream Sundae and costs $7.79. The sundae includes your choice of hand-scooped ice cream topped with hot fudge, whipped cream, red and yellow sprinkles, and a chocolate-coconut cake doughnut.

It is only available for a limited time though, so make sure to grab it before September 6th! This sundae has lots of fun colors and we love the tribute to Lightning McQueen. The Lightning McQueen medallion and sprinkles don’t add much flavor to the dessert, but they definitely look good in the photos!

You can customize this sundae with your choice of hand-scooped ice cream. We opted for the vanilla ice cream, but you can also get it made with chocolate, strawberry, cookies & cream, mint chocolate chip, orange sherbet, and fat-free no-sugar-added vanilla ice cream. While we really enjoyed the balance of vanilla with the chocolate-coconut donut, you can customize this treat to your liking!

Overall, we thought this was a solid sundae, but there wasn’t anything unique or special about it. The chocolate-coconut cake doughnut is full of chocolate and coconut flavor and tastes very decadent. The donut is the same donut as the Lightning McQueen Spare Tire Donut available at Rosie’s All-American Cafe, except there is no raspberry filling in the donut on the sundae.

The ice cream is your classic vanilla ice cream, and along with the whipped cream, balanced nicely against the chocolate of the donut. While this isn’t a sundae to rush over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to grab, it is a tasty and fun option if you are looking for a sundae during your park day. Also be warned that this treat melts quickly, so eat fast or bring some friends along to eat it with you! You can grab this treat now through September 6th. 

In addition to exclusive treats like this ice cream sundae, Annual Passholders also enjoy a variety of other perks throughout the year.  Of course, the Annual Pass gets the holder into the parks on select days and complimentary parking. But, additionally, the passholder can also take advantage of hotel room discounts, merchandise discounts, and dining discounts, and more. Disney World also adds additional perks throughout the year, and sometimes hosts special passholder events.

Currently, Disney World is hosting V.I.Passholder Days for Annual Passholders. During this event passholders can take advantage of an exclusive lounge in EPCOT, pick up a Stitch Passholder magnet, and an increased dining discount. While most of these perks end on June 26th, there are still lots of other advantages to having an Annual Pass.

There are some great perks of having an Annual Pass, but that doesn’t mean it is the right choice for everyone. Annual Passes come with a big price tag, and they may not be the best option.
