While staying on property at Disney World comes with many benefits, it can also be expensive!

Sometimes you might want to splurge and stay at one of Disney World’s Deluxe Resorts. These resorts are the most expensive of the three resort types. Here are a few tricks that could help you stay at these resorts for cheaper!
Disney World has three resort types. They are Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. While staying at Disney World is not always cheap, Deluxe resorts are the most expensive. Here is a list of all the Deluxe resort options.
- Animal Kingdom Lodge
- BoardWalk Inn
- Contemporary Resort
- Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
- Polynesian Village Resort
- Wilderness Lodge
- Yacht Club
- Beach Club
Next up are three hotels that are not owned by Disney, but sit on Disney World property in the Epcot Resort Area. They have a lot of the same benefits and amenities that the Deluxe Resorts have, often with lower nightly rates than the Disney Deluxe Resorts!
The Disney World Disney Vacation Club Resorts also offer benefits and room options similar to the Deluxe resorts and are also priced similarly, as well.
- Animal Kingdom Villas at Jambo House
- Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort
- Beach Club Villas
- BoardWalk Villas
- Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge
- Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at the Wilderness Lodge
- Kidani Village at the Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Old Key West
- Polynesian Village Resort Villas and Bungalows
- Disney’s Riviera Resort
- Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa
- The Villas at the Grand Floridian
There are a few tricks that you can use to help make your stay at these resorts a little cheaper.

Using Exclusive Discounts
Did you know if you are an annual passholder or Disney Vacation Club Member, you can get special discounts on resort stays? Sometimes Disney+ subscribers and Disney Visa Cardholders can even get in on certain hotel discounts!

DVC Members can book discounted cash reservations (meaning you cannot use DVC points to pay for your stay) at certain DVC Resorts. Not all the resorts have availability for this offer and dates do fluctuate. To book a discounted stay, the member must call Member Services.

As for annual passholders, Disney+ subscribers, and Disney Visa Cardholder discounts, these are only given during certain promotional periods. For example, we have seen discounts of up to 35% in the past for annual passholders. Make sure to keep an eye out on the Disney World website for any new announcements for resort discounts. As always we will be checking for any new promotions and will make sure to update you.

Visiting During the Off-season
It is no surprise that it is cheaper to book a room during the off-season at Disney World. Not only can room rates be cheaper, but park tickets tend to be cheaper, and there are fewer people in the park. While it might not be ideal to travel during these off-season dates, it can save you money!

Off-season is the time that people are not traveling as much. The off-season is normally after winter break in late January and February or after summer break in August and September.

Since Disney knows more people come at this time they can raise prices due to demand. That is why visiting during the season might save you money since the demand is not there.
For example, we looked at a Resort View room at The Boardwalk Inn for one night on a weekend during the 2025 off-season. The room came out to $618.

Now let’s compare the same Resort View room for one night during the weekend of 4th of July in 2025. The room comes out to $683.

Comparing these two, the holiday season rate is $65 more! This can add up, especially if you are staying for more than one night!
Use Hotel Points
You may be asking yourself, “Wait, there is a Disney World Resort Loyalty Program?” Sadly there is not, but there are three resorts on the property that you can use Marriott Bonvoy points for!

Did you know that the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve are not actually owned by Disney and are instead owned by Marriott? If you are part of Marriott Bonvoy, you can use your reward points towards a stay at the Dolphin, Swan, or Swan Reserve. This is a great way to be on property while also saving money by using loyalty points.

We know that a vacation to Disney World can be costly, but hopefully one of these tricks can help you save a little bit when you book your next stay!
