One thing you can count on in Disney World is that the weather is going to be unpredictable.

That’s especially true this time of year when we can see record-low temperatures, but also record-high temperatures. Then there are those random thunderstorms that pop up out of nowhere. Well, we already know bad weather is headed to Disney World this weekend, so we’re warning you now to be prepared.
According to Fox 35, a low-pressure weather system known as a “southern soaker” will make its way across the Orlando area over the weekend, bringing anywhere from one to two inches of rain on Sunday. Needless to say, Sunday is looking to be VERY wet. There is also a low chance of severe weather on Sunday, too.

The good news is that severe weather is seen as unlikely in the area, but it’s still going to rain…a lot. Expect several rounds of heavy rain, as well as thunder and gusty winds.
So what does that mean if you’re in Disney World? First, make sure you’ve packed some rain gear. You’ll also want to include some dry socks in your day pack because, believe us, there’s nothing worse than squishy socks in Disney World.

This could also affect your plans at the parks. All outdoor rides usually close when the weather is bad in Disney World, meaning you won’t be able to ride some of your favorites, including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Slinky Dog Dash, Test Track, Jungle Cruise, Expedition Everest, and many more.

The weather can also cause delays and even cancellations of parades and nighttime shows, including Fantasmic!, Happily Ever After, character cavalcades, and more.

So if you’ll be in Disney World on Sunday, keep that in mind and prepare to be flexible with your plans.
