Welcome to January, where cold temps in Disney World can totally take you off guard.

You may think Disney World is warm since it’s Florida, but that’s not the case! Right near Christmas, a freeze watch was put into effect for Disney World, and we even saw low temperatures in October! Cold temperatures are continuing in Disney today and you’ll really want to make sure you’re prepared.

Temperatures throughout the day will range from the low 40s to the low 50s, but the wind chill is what will make things feel really chilly.

The wind chill will keep temperatures feeling a lot colder throughout the day. Wind gusts will be between 12 and 20 mph gusts all over Central Florida.

So how do you stay warm? First off, dress warmly in the parks! We suggest wearing layers, that way if you get too warm in the middle of the day, you can take one off and put it back on at night.

Cold Weather Crowds in Disney World

If you didn’t pack warm clothes with you, Disney will put some out in their stores but you may have to spend a pretty penny so you don’t freeze.

When packing for your trip, make sure to check the forecast ahead of time. If you assume that the weather will be typical warm Florida weather, you may be disappointed when you arrive and all you have are shorts and t-shirts. Although the forecast may be a little different by the time you get to Disney World, it will give you an idea of what to expect.
