Surprise! A BIG Disney World Refurbishment Has Finished EARLY!

Everyone has a favorite form of Disney transportation…and for many, that’s the Skyliner!

The Skyliner is the newest major transportation to hit Disney World. It connects EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios with Disney’s Riviera, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, and Art of Animation Resorts. The Skyliner has been closed for refurbishment, but now we have an update!

*Cue Rafiki’s voice* the King, has returned! That’s right, the beloved Disney Skyliner has reopened early.

Disney had previously announced that the Disney Skyliner would be temporarily closed from January 16th through January 21st, 2024 for routine maintenance with Skyliner service from the Riviera to EPCOT closed through January 27th.

However, the line that stops at the Riviera and EPCOT was open when we stopped by on January 26th!

Cast Members did mention that the Skyliner may be running slower over the next couple of days. We hopped on Disney’s Riviera Resort and it took almost 10 minutes to get to the EPCOT station. We also stopped twice along the way.

So although the Skyliner is open and adds some convenience back if you’re trying to get to EPCOT that way, beware that it may take longer than usual. Hopefully, they will return to normal operations when it was originally set to open on January 28th!
