Gideon’s Bakehouse is one of the most popular spots in Disney Springs, and for good reason, because those half-pound cookies are a fan favorite. January 20th is their anniversary, and we’re here to celebrate with them. However, so is the rest of the world, apparently.

Gideon’s is celebrating three years at Disney Springs and has brought back its Peanut Butter Apple Galette for us to enjoy. This is their outstanding Peanut Butter Sauce baked with Fresh Cut Apples wrapped in a Buttery Housemade Pastry and topped with crunchy Peanut Butter Crumbs. It’s only available for ONE day!

So, how many people have come out to celebrate Gideon’s anniversary? Well, it almost looks like the whole city of Orlando since this was the END of the line this morning! As you can see, that building is NOT Gideon’s Bakehouse. Yep, the line wrapped all the way around the corner and past Morimoto Asia — and this was before the bakery was even open!

A few hours later, a virtual queue opened up!

However, this was the line to even SIGN UP for the virtual queue! With the virtual queue, you can sign up to come back at a later time and wander around Disney Springs in the meantime. As of around noon, it was a 4.5-hour wait to order those treats!

We grabbed the Peanut Butter Apple Galette, and we’ll be honest, all those flavors worked really well together! Peanut butter and apples? Yes, and YES.

The dough is slightly stiff to hold the shape but has a great chew to it once you bite into this treat. The center has mostly a peanut butter flavor but has a few apple bits and a layer of something comparable to apple butter. We loved it!

Gideon’s Bakehouse also has cookies and cake slices that are available every month, plus there are some special monthly offerings that you won’t want to miss out on! This month, you can try a Maple Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookie or a slice of Maple Caramel Chocolate Cake. (Spoiler alert: they’re both AMAZING, too!)
