7 Things We’re BEGGING Disney World To Bring to the NEW Animal Kingdom Expansion

The times are a-changin’ for Disney World, whether fans are excited about those changes or not.

Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom

Disney announced that Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand, U.S.A. would be rethemed into a whole new land — and ever since, we’ve been speculating wildly as to what might come with it. So, here are seven things we’re begging Disney World to bring to the NEW Animal Kingdom expansion.

At Destination D23, Disney confirmed that DinoLand, U.S.A. will be going away to be replaced by a new land. Disney executives came together on stage to discuss where else Imagineering has thought about taking guests when they visit Animal Kingdom.

DinoLand, USA

So far, we know that Imagineers are focusing on “The Tropical Americas” part of the world, which is the northern part of South America and Central America. Not only that, but Disney has now said that it’s considering the world of Encanto and Indiana Jones for the area. Here’s what we hope that means.

More Animals

It wouldn’t be Animal Kingdom without, well, animals, and we hope this new land brings even more friends for us to meet! The Tropical Americas are known for being one of the most biodiverse areas of the world, and that means there are so many possibilities to work with here.

Lunch time!

Not only that, but how cool would it be if Disney tied Encanto into a new animal exhibit? With Antonio’s animal gifts, it would make the perfect themed walkthrough attraction. Don’t worry, Disney, you can cut us a check for this idea later.

Casita Ride

In the concept art Disney shared for this retheme, we can clearly see La Casita from Encanto in what appears to be some sort of boat ride. And let’s just say — we’re pretty dang excited about this possibility. Imagine going through La Casita, and discovering everyone’s powers and abilities along the way.

It would even make for a pretty good dark ride — the culmination could have something to do with Bruno and his rats!

Isabela’s Garden

Of course, Animal Kingdom is all about the animals, but there’s also some incredibly impressive vegetation and botanical life in this park. And, that would tie in directly with Isabela’s talent — the ability to grow flowers.

The gang’s all here!

Just think of the lush gardens Disney could create that could even be combined with the Antonio-themed animal walking path! This retheme is starting to make a whole lot more sense to us now.

Character Dining

There’s already some pretty stellar character dining in Animal Kingdom over at Tusker House, but we think some Encanto character dining would be pretty remarkable as well. Not only would we love to see our favorite characters from this film, but think of the incredible music we’d get to hear — not to mention the food!

Mirabel!

The Tropical Americas — and Colombia in particular — are known for some pretty stellar eats and cuisine. Arepas, anyone?!

Indiana Jones Bar

But, Encanto isn’t the only franchise Disney is considering for this area. The concept art also shows an area that looks like it could be dedicated to Indiana Jones. What if Disney took the Indiana Jones pop-up bar we saw earlier in Hollywood Studios and put it here instead?

Den of Destiny!

We think it would make for an incredibly cool, themed tavern or watering hole with drinks and some light bites. Think Jock Lindsay’s only a bit more overtly Indiana Jones-themed!

Indiana Jones Adventure Ride

And, of course, we have to talk about the potential to bring an Indiana Jones Adventure Ride to Animal Kingdom as well. You see, Dinosaur, the existing ride in DinoLand, is based on the same ride vehicles and track system as the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland.

Indiana Jones Adventure

It would be pretty easy (probably) to transform this ride into the Indiana Jones Adventure ride (we think), and it would make perfect sense for Disney to do so.

Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see what Disney has planned for this new land, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest updates and news!
