The Single Best Thing They've Added to Disney Springs in the Last 10 Years

If you haven’t been to Disney Springs in the past decade, you’ll be SHOCKED at how different things are.

Gone are the days of nightclubs and Pleasure Island — now those old offerings have been replaced with high-end shopping, restaurants run by James Beard award-winning chefs, and activities for the whole family. But there’s one thing that has been added to Disney Springs in the past decade that we are immensely thankful for!

What’s the BEST thing that has been added to Disney Springs in the past 10 years? In our humble opinion, it’s Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’!

This restaurant first opened in 2016 and it’s operated by Chef Art Smith, who is one of those previously-mentioned James Beard Award-winning chefs. The restaurant is known for its comforting Southern cuisine, and it was a fast fan-favorite when it first opened, continuing to maintain that reputation since.

Homecomin’ is known for several iconic menu items, including their famous fried chicken, Church Lady Deviled Eggs, Hummingbird Cake, and Cheddar Cheese Drop Biscuits. On top of all that, Homecomin’ is home to a Shine Bar, where they serve homemade Moonshine.

Besides the delicious food, we’ve also continuously had top-notch service here, with very friendly servers and a welcoming atmosphere. This restaurant might even be a good option for large groups, as there are several bigger tables indoors and lots of outdoor dining space.

And if you’re a die-hard Homecomin’ fan, they even have merch! There are several souvenirs you can shop inside the restaurant, from shirts to baby onesies.

Ultimately, Homecomin’ is one of those restaurants that we’d recommend for appetizers, entrees, desserts, drinks, or a combination of all four! They seem to do every course well, with high-quality ingredients and perfectly-balanced flavors. Plus, the portions are very generous — so you’re definitely not leaving here with an empty stomach!
