NEWS: A Disney Hotel Expansion Is Coming SOON

We’ve got some exciting news on a NEW hotel expansion!

With so many upcoming international happenings coming soon like a Rapunzel-themed restaurant, World of Frozen, and the upcoming Disney100 celebration in  Disneyland Paris, it’s hard not to book a flight overseas right this moment. However, if you think you’re going to be spending some time in the other Disneyland parks soon, this might be the next thing you need to hear to extend your trip a few days.

Shanghai Disney Resort has recently announced plans for a new hotel expansion. This announcement marks the beginning stages of the third-themed hotel which will be part of a new expansion for the international Disneyland resorts.

This new hotel will join the existing two hotels nearby that will help to cultivate the popular resort’s weight as a multi-day tourism destination. “Positioned as a deluxe hotel with 400 rooms, when opened the new hotel will join the elegant 420-room Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and the playful 795-room Toy Story Hotel, to provide resort guests with even more accommodation options.”

Leaders and representatives of Shanghai Shendi Group, The Walt Disney Company, Shanghai Disney Resort, and the Administrative Commission of Shanghai International Resort all attended the groundbreaking ceremony in the early morning hours, which represented the official commencement of construction.

This highly-themed hotel will be located on the shores of Wishing Star Lake and will provide views of Shanghai Disneyland, while also offering a broad family appeal and experiences. It’s also reported that the design will be inspired by Art Nouveau architecture and design – and infused with Disney storytelling and whimsy – all while staying  “authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese.”

The new hotel’s intention will be to immerse guests in spaces and activities that showcase Disney characters and stories, introduce new dining, shopping, and entertainment, and provide more options for people planning multi-day visits to Shanghai Disneyland.
