Do you love Disney’s Animal Kingdom? We sure do!
One of the things we love most about Animal Kingdom is seeing all the different animals that the park houses. But someone has to take care of all of those animals — in fact, a whole team takes care of these animals, and Disney recently highlighted them on social media.
Over on Instagram, Dr. Mark Penning highlighted the animal nutritionists over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom because they feed 5,000 animals every single day! There are 300 different species in this park, and they design meals for every single one.
We’re not the only ones who eat restaurant-quality food in Disney — so do the animals! Thanks to the nutritionists at the Animal Nutrition Center, the animals all receive the right amount of protein, fat, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients every single day.
That all adds up to over 10,000 pounds of food each day for the animals at Animal Kingdom, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and SeaBase in EPCOT.
The Animal Care Team also provides all the animals with check-ups, exams, and more 24/7 to keep them all as healthy as possible for their long lives.
