I’ve Stayed at EVERY Disney World Resort. Here’s What You Need to Know About All-Star Sports.

I have stayed at and reviewed every single Disney World Resort hotel — so I’ve formed some serious opinions about them.

Quincy at All-Star Sports

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is one of Disney World’s cheapest hotels. Sure, a value resort might not have all of the bells and whistles of the more luxurious options — but All-Star Sports still has a lot to offer. Let’s break down what you need to know about All-Star Sports Resort to find out if it’s right for you on your next Disney vacation.

Before we dive-in, you can get a full sense of this hotel and all it has to offer in my complete tour of the resort. Watch it right here!

Now, let’s talk about All-Star Sports!

The Theme

All-Star Sports is one of three All-Star hotels themed to, you guessed it, sports! The other locations are themed to music and movies. This theme is larger than life with giant sports equipment around the resort like football helmets and baseball bats — depending on what sport-themed section you’re in.

All-Star Sports

Many of the different areas also have large spaces that are themed after sport courts. In fact, this is one of my favorite aspects of the resort. I love pretending to play tennis with Donald or hit a home run by the Grand Slam pool.

All-Star Sports

This larger than life theming is something that you can see at a number of value hotels in Disney World. The All-Stars all have it as do Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. It’s great for kids and makes for a fun and vibrant stay in my opinion.

The Cost

All-Star Sports is one of the cheapest hotels in Disney World. In fact, the All-Stars are priced lower than any other Disney World hotel. Rooms range from $128 to $321 per night depending on season. Now, that’s still more expensive than other non-Disney hotels, but this is the cheapest way to stay on property, at an official Disney hotel, with all the included perks.

All-Star Sports

The biggest perks available to guests of All-Star Sports are free transportation around Disney World and 30 minutes of Early Theme Park Entry. That free transportation really helps with the feel of the “Disney bubble” — which a lot of guests value as making their vacation feel relaxing and magical.

All-Star Sports

With a less expensive stay, All-Star Sports also regularly serves as a hotel for large school and sport groups. This is something to keep in mind because large groups of kids and teens can certainly add to noise levels and general crowds around the hotel (especially the pools and transportation).

Location

All-Star Sports is located in the Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort area, closest to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. This puts it about 10-15 minutes to almost anywhere in Disney World by car. If you don’t have a car, you’ll be using the Disney bus system most likely.

All-Star Sports Bus Stop

Disney buses make it easy to get around but they do tend to take longer than if you had a car. Buses come every 20 minutes to various locations, so if you catch it at the wrong time, it could take you almost an hour to get from All-Star Sports to another part of Disney World. On top of that, the bus lines can get crowded — especially when bus routes are shared with the other two All-Star hotels.

Room Types

But let’s talk about the rooms! All-Star Sports offers one type of room that has two queen beds and a bathroom. It’s on the small side when it comes to Disney hotel rooms and has a slight sports theme to the furnishings. You can also pay a little bit more for a preferred room that will have a location closer to the lobby.

All-Star Sports Room

In my opinion, All-Star Sports is a great option if you will only be in your room when it’s time to sleep and get ready. If you are headed to the parks with every waking hour you can, then you probably don’t need a ton of space and amenities.

Dining Options

All-Star Sports doesn’t have a ton of dining options, but the ones available are pretty solid. End Zone Food Court is the main dining location and offers a variety of food, from burgers to pasta.

My favorite things on the menu are the burgers — they typically have one with fun toppings. Although shockingly, I was impressed with the Barbecued Pulled Pork Sandwich. Also, the pool bar has some fun pool drinks — including ones that feature Dole Whip!

Amenities

As a Value resort, All-Star Sports doesn’t have a ton of amenities, but I am a fan of the ones that are available. The resort has two pools — the Surfboard Bay Pool and the baseball diamond-shaped Grand Slam Pool. Not only are these pools fun shapes, but you can also participate in pool activities and listen to fun tunes during your pool day.

Beyond that, there is more recreation with campfire activities, movies under the stars, a playground, a jogging trail, and an arcade.

If you’re looking for a real show-stopper hotel, you’ll probably need to shell out a bit more cash in Disney World. On the other side, true value will come from staying off-property. But, All-Star Sports is a great option for those looking for value while still hoping for some Disney magic — and I’ve really enjoyed my stays there.

  1. My family stayed at the All Star for a cheer competition with her team and I was not impressed at all. The rooms were dark and dingy and smelled like mold and mildew. Everything looked old and worn out. Not worth it, even to stay at a Disney property. Would not stay there again.

  2. having stayed here twice now, for me and my family this is the best hotel, not only are we saving significant money but the theming is one of our favourites. of course, everyone does Disney differently, so for some the hotel would be awful, not having the same high quality and standards that others do, however as a family that doesn’t really bother too much doing stuff in the hotel, this one is perfect for us
