Planning a trip to Disney World can be overwhelming.

From trying to get the best deal on a Disney World hotel to figuring out how to master Genie+, there are a lot of steps to getting your trip just right! One of the most important parts of the planning process for a lot of Disney visitors is getting their most desired Advance Dining Reservations. But, do you know what to do when you get your coveted reservation and then your plans change? Disney has a cancellation policy that you might not know about.

Previously, if you needed to cancel your dining reservation, you would have had to make that change at least 24 hours in advance. If you canceled within 24 hours, you would have been charged a fee for each person on the reservation.

This could lead to some stressful situations! It’s not uncommon for plans to change, things to take longer than expected, and situations to arise that require you to rearrange your schedule. Sometimes this happens with a lot less notice than 24 hours! Thankfully, Disney recently changed this policy. You can now cancel most dining reservations until 2 hours before your reservation without a fee.

If you find yourself needing to make a cancellation, you can do so by calling 407-WDW-CNCL, through the My Disney Experience website or app, and at Guest Relations in the parks and hotels.

Keep in mind that while this new system is a lot more flexible, if you do have to cancel your reservation after the 2-hour window, there will still be a $10 fee per person. Also, there are certain restaurants that this does not apply to, like Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, Victoria & Albert’s, and Monsieur Paul.
