The area surrounding Disney World is full of shopping, hotels, and attractions.

Disney itself is even in the process of building a huge shopping center outside of the parks which is estimated to be done sometime this year. Now, we have word of another shopping center that’s in the works — and it could mean a new hotel is coming to the Disney area.

According to the Orlando Business Journal, the owner of land just south of the All-Star Resorts is in the process of preparing the area for commercial development. While we don’t have a ton of details, this could mean a new shopping center or even a hotel!

An Osceola County pre-application development meeting is set to take place today to discuss the 9.2-acre property just outside of Disney. In the meeting request, the landowner notes the “intended development would include a six-lot commercial subdivision that would include permissions for restaurant, retail, drive-through, and hotel uses.”

The land is just south of U.S. 192/West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, and according to Osceola County records, Lake Wilson Enterprises LLC bought the land in August 2019 for $6 million.

This new center is pretty on trend — development in the Disney World area has been booming lately, even with the pressure from inflation. Businesses like Kobe Japanese Steakhouse, Publix Super Markets Inc, and The Walt Disney Co.’ Flamingo Crossings have all been growing or adding locations in the area as of late.

We’ll keep an eye on the situation and keep you posted with any new details, so stay tuned!
