Could Disney Make a ‘Freaky Friday’ Sequel? One Actress Hopes So!

Disney has made its fair share of sequels and spin offs.

Not only are we getting a new Avatar movie soon, but Jungle Cruise, Descendants, and Cruella have sequels in the works by Disney now! Disney is also recreating the Haunted Mansion movie with several popular actors including Jamie Lee Curtis and she is using this connection to plead for a sequel to another one of her movies!

That’s right — Jamie Lee Curtis is hoping for a Freaky Friday sequel soon! 

According to Variety, Curtis revealed on The View that she had “already written to Disney” about making another Freaky Friday movie. She said, “Let me be the grandma! Let me be the old grandma who switches places.”

Curtis also mentioned that she is good friends with Lindsay Lohan, her co-star from Freaky Friday. She also said “I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today’s world, as an old lady.”

No sequel has been confirmed by Disney but this is not the first time an actress has hoped for a sequel to their movie — Idina Menzel said that she hopes for a Frozen 3 movie in the future!

Even though this doesn’t seem to be in the works yet, it would be fun to have a sequel to such an iconic 2000s movie! We’ll let you know if Disney announces anything about the Freaky Friday sequel, but in the meantime you can look forward to seeing Jamie Lee Curtis in the new Haunted Mansion movie which will be released on August 11th, 2023.
