Brightline Train Station in Disney Springs Canceled

In 2020, Brightline announced that a high-speed train station would be added to Disney Springs, connecting Disney World to Orlando International Airport. However, we learned this week that Disney is no longer involved in the project as the train will not have a stop in Disney Springs.

The decision comes after the route was redrawn to include a train station on International Drive and not at Disney Springs, as the original plan had shown. Brightline will continue construction on the line, including a stop near (but not inside) Disney Springs.

  1. I’m disappointed that Disney won’t be on the Brightline track. The choice to step away from the project, along with the other short-sighted choices Chapeck has made, makes me wonder if the long term plan is to sell off all or part of WDW.
