The day has finally come — it’s time to officially welcome the Disney Wish into the Disney Cruise Line family!
Disney hosted a Christening Ceremony for their newest ship, and while we knew some special people would be in attendance, we were at the event to hear all about the Disney Wish and everything it has to offer. If you weren’t able to watch it yourself, don’t worry, we’ll tell you all about it!
Disney sure knows how to throw a party! We were invited to the Christening Ceremony for the Disney Wish ahead of its maiden voyage on July 14th, 2022 — just a few short weeks away! As part of this special event, we got to hear from some of the people behind the Wish, along with some other special guests.

The two gave a brief pep talk, and then the entertainment began. We heard several Disney classics, plus a special rendition of songs from Wishes by Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Princess Tiana.
Then, it was officially time to christen the Disney Wish! Three Make-A-Wish Godchildren Ambassadors arrived on stage, and made the official announcement. Disney has dedicated the Wish to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and has decided to make those kids official Fairy Godchildren of the ship!
Of course, in true Disney fashion — no special event is complete without a show and fireworks, and the Disney Wish christening was no different!
