If you’re like us, you’ve been marking your calendar and counting down the days until the premiere of the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+.
We’ve watched the trailer multiple times and we’re beyond excited to see the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. But we’ve just learned we’re all going to have to wait a bit longer to watch the season premiere.
Originally, the series was supposed to premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, May 24th. However, in a video posted to social media, Ewan McGregor announced that the series will now premiere on the streaming service on Friday, May 27th.

However, the series premiere will feature the first TWO episodes, so fans will basically get a bonus episode for waiting. Disney has not given a reason for moving the premiere by two days, but if we learn anything, we’ll be sure to let you know.
So if you’re a little disappointed, remember Yoda once said, “Patience, you must have, my young Padawan.” So take a deep breath, make a new note on your calendar, and allow yourself to get excited that two episodes will drop on May 27th instead of one.

Original air date was Wednesday, May 25, not 24. (I only noticed that because the number 25 has been dancing in my head for a while!!) I’m sad to wait a few more days, but Ewan McGregor’s video was so cute and makes the delay forgivable! 😆❤️
