There are probably some things that you’re sad don’t exist in Disney World anymore.
FastPass+, Extra Magic Hours, Happily Ever After…it’s hard not to feel nostalgic about these things that were such a big part of the Disney World experience. But there are also some things that have left Disney World that most people have forgotten about by now.
Let’s look at the things you forgot closed in Disney World!
The Void
The Void was an immersive virtual reality experience located at Disney Springs. You could step into the some of your favorite fantasy franchises like Star Wars or Avengers.
The Void shut down when Disney World closed in March of 2020 due to the global pandemic, and it just never opened its doors again!
Nothing has filled the space where The Void was in Disney Springs’ Marketplace. And, Disney World hasn’t made any announcements about what could possibly go in the empty spot. So it’s a mystery right now, but we do miss this unique experience!
Wolfgang Puck Express
Not to be confused with Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill in Disney Springs, Wolfgang Puck Express used to be located in the Marketplace area of the shopping center.
This was a Quick Service spot that had items like soup, salad, pizza, and sandwiches. They also had some entrees like bacon wrapped meatloaf and rotisserie chicken. It was a terrific value in terms of money and quality on the Disney Dining Plan and a big guest favorite.
It was confirmed in October of 2020 that Wolfgang Puck Express was permanently closed, and the spot still sits empty!
NBA Experience
The NBA Experience at Disney Springs has a pretty tragic story. It opened in Disney Springs in August of 2019 and took the spot of DisneyQuest.
Inside, you could participate in various different basketball activities like learning how to dunk and testing your knowledge of the sport with trivia.
After not even being open for a year, the NBA Experience shut down in March 2020 along with the rest of Disney World due to the global pandemic. We found out earlier this year that it would never open again.
The large building now sits empty, so we’re really interested to see what Disney does with the massive space!
Primeval Whirl
Okay, maybe you didn’t forget about this one, but it would be pretty easy to because the ride is completely GONE — it’s been demolished! Primeval Whirl was located in DinoLand USA in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and was a “cat and mouse” style roller coaster.
Over the years, Primeval Whirl would only open seasonally, so clearly it wasn’t a universal guest favorite. Disney World announced in July of 2021 that the ride would be permanently closed.
The ride had sat vacant for a while, but since the announcement that it was closing, we’ve seen it be quickly demolished! It seemed like every time we’d visit Animal Kingdom, more and more of the ride was missing. And now, it’s like it never even existed.
R.I.P. Primeval Whirl, some people will miss you.
Electric Umbrella
Electric Umbrella was located in EPCOT’s Future World and was a Quick Service spot that served your basic theme park fare — chicken nuggets and hamburgers.
It had a ton of seating both inside and outside and had some pretty dated (but fun and colorful!) theming!
Electric Umbrella was closed in February of 2020 as part of the big EPCOT transformation that is currently underway. Since then, the building has been completely gutted.
The transformation is moving along and will likely be the spot of the new Quick Service restaurant announced for EPCOT at this year’s D23 presentations: Connections Cafe and Eatery. We’ll keep watching for more developments.

What closed attraction do you miss the most in Disney World? Let us know in the comments!
The last time my husband and I went was in January 2020. We used to go every single year, but with the pandemic…and with the company not really knowing what the heck they are actually doing with the parks, we are waiting until at least 2026 before heading back…maybe things will even out and calm down by then.
WDW should be sold. There is no magic left.
Bob Paycheck, is that you? 😆
Electric Umbrella has some of the worst food in Disney World, plus it was dirty, disorganized and excessively loud. It won’t be missed.
We were there a month ago and noticed that the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques appears to be closed.
I think that one’s temporary based on current health precautions. That place is a cash cow for the parks and Bob Paycheck.
