Today, we spotted that Electric Umbrella and Pin Central have both closed at the park!

In fact, Future World is starting to look pretty different all around. When you enter the park, there are Cast Members out with signs to point you in the right direction.

Since there is so much construction going on, the park has added in a variety of signs to help guests get where they need to go.

The area where both Electric Umbrella and Pin Central was is now completely closed off — you can just barely make out the top of the structure that had housed Pin Central.

The park has also recently added signage leading guests to the new temporary park exit.

While the landscape of the park has changed, if you were looking to grab a quick bite to eat at Electric Umbrella, don’t fret! There are now several other dining options to place replace it. For one, there is Eats at the Epcot Experience which is now open and offering classic and easy meal options, similar to the ones that were available on the menu at Electric Umbrella.

You can also now find burgers at Sunshine Seasons in The Land Pavilion, so all is not lost for guests that just want a quick and easy meal in Future World.

Additionally, Taste Track should be opening soon to bring guests a menu including favorites such as burgers and chicken fingers.

The closure of Electric Umbrella is permanent, so we’ll never sit under those neon umbrella lights again. However, it also marks a milestone of progress for the overhaul of Future World so we’re excited about what’s to come.

  1. I’m glad that Electric Umbrella is closed, and hope it never reopens. It was the dirtiest restaurant in Epcot. The food was awful, and the ordering area was chaotic.

  2. Can honestly say I never visited The Electric Umbrella. With all the wonderful options in World Showcase, we never stopped here. I am excited for what is to come.

  3. I can’t really remember the food, but the location holds a special place for me. I remember using the old pay phones to call and check my grades my first semester of college! Many years and degrees later, I still remember the texture of the carpeted walls like yesterday. Wonderful memories!

    1. This restaurante is nostalgic for me as well! I am only commenting because I was shocked to see Im not the only one who will always remember the carpeted walls . I hope they don’t change them but I don’t have high hopes. RIP Splash Mountain as well.

  4. My wife and I have been coming to Disney since 1995. Both as a couple and later with the kids. We will miss the Electric Umbrella. It was always a a planned place to catch a quick meal for us.

  5. It was such a convenient location for self serve fountain drinks or to fill up a bottle with ice and water. I’ll miss it, but excited to see all the changes happening!

  6. Not going to lie. Liked the convenience of that restaurant. I completely understand the need to update it, but that line never seemed long in there. And when I need a carton of milk… it’s nice.
