NBA Experience in Disney Springs Celebrates its Grand Opening!

The NBA Experience in Disney SpringsWest Side celebrated its Grand Opening today. We were there to bring you all the news and highlights from Disney World‘s newest entertainment complex.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and Disney’s CEO Bob Iger were on hand to celebrate the opening of the NBA Experience. Joining them were NBA stars of yesterday and today including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Grant Hill, Dwane Wade, Swin Cash, Victor Oladipo, Aaron Gordon, Brook Lopez, Mike Conley, and Udonis Haslem. ESPN host Rachel Nichols also joined in the fun.

Mickey and Minnie were there too, wearing their basketball uniforms.

Activities in Disney Springs’ NBA Experience

Once inside, we had to take a look at all of the activities you can participate in at the NBA Experience. There are 13 activities across two floors.

The first floor highlights include the Players, Merchandise, and Combine activities. Second floor highlights include Dunk!, Dribble, Draft, Shoot!, Slingshot, and visit the atrium.

We will be bringing you a full photo tour of the NBA Experience this week. Here’s a preview of what we saw and experienced. Our first stop was to take a look at the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy. It is as impressive as it looks on TV when the winning team holds it up in the air! This will make a great photo op!

You will get to experience what it is like to hear a team call your name in Draft — complete with a photo with a wax version of NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver!

If you have dreamed of making a slam dunk Dunk! is the activity for you. The goal can be adjusted to the correct height for you to make your picture-perfect slam dunk.

NBA Experience Shoot!

See how you measure up to an NBA or WNBA player. Are you seven feet tall?

NBA Experience Measure Up

In the Players area you enter a locker room and can look up players, teams, and more on the interactive screens.

Slingshot is what it sounds like, you slingshot the ball into the hoop, well you try too!

In the Arcade you can play NBA2K and other arcade games — perfect for kids of all ages!

To celebrate the opening a brand-new Funko POP! was released featuring none other than Mickey himself! Take a look at this special edition figure.

Mickey is going up for what looks like a slam dunk. He is wearing a blue uniform with the number 28 on it in red.

  1. That place looks so boring. $35 to shoot hoops and play a few horrible looking games, and trivia really. The market for this basketball super fan attraction is so limited its funny. 18 months is what I give this place till it closes. Football may have worked but basketball who really cares. Heck I would guess 30% of the people going to Disney World are from over seas and could care less.

    Horrible idea. Lets only go for the 8-30 year old mostly male market, oooo wait they are mostly poor and can’t spend $35.
