While many hotels, restaurants, and shops are back to normal (or modified) operations, there are still quite a few locations that we are waiting to reopen. And, today we’ve learned that one Disney World experience will be closing permanently.

According to Scott Gustin (@ScottGustin) on Twitter and the Orlando Sentinelthe NBA Experience will NOT reopen and is now permanently closed in Disney Springs.

NBA Experience

If you’re not familiar, the NBA Experience opened in Disney World back in 2019 and took the place of DisneyQuest. Here, you could step into the center of the basketball court and participate in 13 different basketball-related activities like learning how to dunk or even testing your knowledge with some trivia.

The NBA Experience joins a few other spots that have permanently closed following the initial COVID-19 shut down at Disney World including Ample Hills Creamery at Disney’s BoardWalk.

    1. I, too, saw this coming when they first announced the planned opening. Disney would do well to survey real guests to see what they are interested in, instead of the current “build it, give it a try, close it down, repeat”. One could write a very large book on all the failed adventures Disney has tried that, IMHO, the average Joe wasn’t interested in to begin with.
