Disney World is still celebrating its 50th anniversary, which will last a full 18 months!
We’ve seen lots of new 50th anniversary merchandise since the celebration began in October, from spirit jerseys to Minnie ears and more, and some of these new items have been on the pricier side, like $1,000 (!!) ears. Now you might want to save your pennies (or not) for this new 50th anniversary item!
Today we were wandering around Island Mercantile in Animal Kingdom when we found a new 50th anniversary PopSocket! The catch? It just got a HUGE price increase.
This new PopSocket features the 50th logo on a silhouette of Cinderella Castle, all in sparkly gold on a black background. In case you’re unfamiliar, you can stick PopSockets on the back of your device for a convenient grip!
And just so you know we’re telling you the truth, here’s the tag! This new PopSocket costs a whopping $49.99. For reference, most PopSockets cost somewhere between $15 to $20, so this is quite a price jump.
If you’re looking for a fancy 50th anniversary PopSocket, Disney World has you covered! Head to Island Mercantile in Animal Kingdom, and make sure you have a spare $50 to spend.

Disney likes to toss things out there like this to see how dumb the consumer actually is, I believe. I wish there was a way to know what goes over and what ends up not selling.
