The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebrations begin in just a few weeks which means that there is a ton of new merchandise coming to the parks soon!
We’ve brought you a sneak peek of all the new 50th Anniversary collections coming to the parks, showed you what has already shown up in Disney World, and even brought you a look at a MagicBand only select guests can purchase. And, now there’s a new item that’s available for the 50th anniversary, but you’ll have to head to the DMV to get it!
Back in October 2020, Disney announced that Florida residents would be able to purchase a specialty Walt Disney World Resort license plate for the first time ever.
Only a few months later, pre-orders for the plate had reached the minimum number needed before the new license plate can begin production in the state of Florida. And, according to WFTV9, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has announced that it is now available at tax collector offices and license plate agencies in the state!
The license plate ended up receiving over 10,000 pre-sales according to state officials and now those who placed their pre-order can take their voucher to their local tax collector office or license plate agency to pick theirs up.
Didn’t place a pre-order but still want to get one? You’ll also be able to get it from your local DMV, you’ll just need to pay for it there (keep in mind that pre-sale vouchers were $25 plus applicable state administration fees).
All of the proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish of Central and Northern Florida, which has been a partner of Disney’s since 1980.

I’ve been looking for how to order the 50th Anniversary “legal” license plates in Florida as a Florida resident and do not see them on the DMV site here in Polk county Tax Collectors office where we do DMV. I also had not heard until today, registering my Moms car and wanted the plates thought I’d be able to get for my own car. I did a google search to see where and what to do and came across your site. Had never heard about registering to get approved and receive a voucher – no news at all and I work for the mouse. What do I do, I want the plates.
