Did Marvel Add a NEW Post-Credit Scene to the WandaVision Finale?

We know how much Marvel loves to give us theories and hints with Easter eggs.

Until we can discuss the next Loki episode, we have a new WandaVision development to discuss, and it takes place in a post-credits scene.

After we sobbed through the WandaVision finale, we thought that was all the Wanda Maximoff news we’d get for a while. Fortunately, some eagle eyes noticed something new in the post-credits scene of the season 1 finale of WandaVision. CNET reports that there have been some changes made in the area surrounding Wanda’s cabin in the woods.

When we last saw Wanda in the post-credits season finale that aired on March 5, 2021, we found her in a cabin studying the Darkhold using Dr. Strange’s astral projection technique. The woods around her cabin were mostly dead trees. Now, in this new, altered post-credits scene, we see lots of greener, healthy-looking trees.

There is also a shadowy figure seen floating down the mountain toward Wanda’s cabin. Could this be Dr. Strange in his astral projection form? We know that Wanda will be making an appearance in the upcoming Dr. Strange film, Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so could this be their connection?

Of course, it’s absolutely possible that Disney simply altered this scene to include prettier trees, or that the shadowy figure is a trick of the light, and we’re theorizing over nothing.

One of our editors noted this rectangular shape doesn’t track with the footage — rather, it stays in place. In VFX this is a common mistake when making a mask to clean something up, possibly in the sky at the beginning of the shot, and it didn’t get caught when finished (hey, it happens!). So this could entirely be a goof that fans are trying to see more into than is really there.

On top of that, it’s not uncommon for scenes to be rushed to finish production and later for the full vision of the shot to have time to be realized (in this case, rendering more trees in the scene possibly). So basically this could be…something. But also could just be…a rushed Visual Effects shot they scrambled to get finished by a deadline. Only the designers of this shot know for sure!
