Well, it’s been a very wild ride, but today marks the season finale of WandaVision!
We’ve spent nine episodes just trying to figure out what’s going on, as well as trying to get answers to every question the series has raised about the MCU. As fans, we’ve watched Disney+ crash not just once — but twice — as episodes premiered, and got to see WandaVision become the top streaming series in the U.S.!
So, of course, we’re wondering if there will be a second season of WandaVision. Initially, Marvel’s intent seemed to be for WandaVision to be a limited series, and it doesn’t look like a second season is in the works…at least not yet.
According to USA Today, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige isn’t completely ruling out the possibility. He said, “I’ve been at Marvel too long to say a definite ‘no’ to anything.”
However, he also said that the current plan is for Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, to appear in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel. He did not definitely say that the WandaVision series is officially over, though. Instead, he said:
“The fun of the MCU is obviously all the crossover we can do between series, between films. So it will vary based on the story. Sometimes it will go into a Season 2, sometimes it will go into a feature and back into a series. We’re thinking of and planning second seasons for some of the upcoming series.”
There’s plenty of material for a second season, although we’re curious as to how much of Wanda’s story will continue to get explored in future Marvel movies. For now, we’ll just have to be content that we’re getting even more Marvel shows this year on Disney+, including The Falcon and Winter Soldier and Loki.
What do you think — should WandaVision get a second season? Let us know in the comments.
