How Many Americans Will Travel for Spring Break? The Answer May Surprise You!

Holiday periods tend to be the time that we see an uptick in crowds at Walt Disney World — even since the park has reopened with additional health and safety restrictions. And, if you were looking at the number of people in the Disney parks on those days, you might think that everyone is back to traveling. But, a recent poll indicates that may not be the case.

According to Fox Business, only 12% of Americans are planning to travel over the spring break period. This is a drop from a previous poll indicating that 16% had travel plans.

The travel industry has not regained popularity amidst the ongoing global pandemic, as the CDC continues to discourage leisure travel. In addition, restrictions on international travel remain in place which has caused there to be an 80% reduction in travel from other countries.

Air Travel

The travel industry hopes to see an increase as more people are vaccinated with the hopes that there is a rebound near the end of May. According to President Biden, the U.S. will have enough vaccinations for every American by that time.
