‘A Day in the Park With Barney’ Has Permanently Closed at Universal Orlando

Things are constantly changing at the theme parks in Orlando, including at Universal Orlando.

Recently, we shared news about Volcano Bay reopening, and about some creatures that have been added to the upcoming Velocicoaster. But, as some things open, others close. Blue Man Group announced that they would be leaving Universal Resort, and now Universal has confirmed that one of its attractions — A Day in the Park with Barney — is now permanently closed.

Last year, Universal Orlando temporarily closed its “A Day in the Park with Barney” show, as well as select other attractions.

Today, via Twitter, Universal Orlando Resort officially shared that “A Day in the Park with Barney” has permanently closed.

So, unfortunately those who loved this big, purple dinosaur won’t be able to enjoy his stage show in the park anymore.

Universal advised guests to stay tuned to the Universal Orlando website for updates about the destination. We’ll definitely keep an eye out for more updates about the potential future use of this space and other new things coming to Universal.
