Walt Disney World is the Most Magical Place on Earth and has been for decades. Next year Walt Disney World will celebrate its 50th anniversary.
When Walt Disney World celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2021, there are expected to be several new attractions, restaurants, and shows in the parks.
Here are the things AllEars readers are looking forward to in 2021 — from least anticipated to most.

Polynesian Village Resort Reimagining
In time for the Polynesian Village Resort’s 50th anniversary, which is next year, too, the resort will undergo some slight refurbishment. Some of the rooms will be themed after the animated film Moana. Parts of the resort (namely DVC portions) are currently open, but the resort will officially reopen in 2021.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel is one of Disney’s most complicated undertakings. It isn’t just a hotel; it is an immersive experience where you will feel like you are on an actual Starcruiser in the Star Wars universe.

HarmonioUS
When the Illuminations nighttime spectacular closed in 2019, we all wondered when the next longterm show would open. HarmoniUS was first set to entertain guests for the first time in spring 2020, but that was delayed until next year. But it’s time to get excited because we are already starting to spot some of the barges getting in position for testing.

Space 220 Restaurant
EPCOT has been undergoing major improvements from new attractions to film updates to construction walls galore . Along with all of these changes EPCOT is getting a new restaurant that is out of this world. Space 220 is a space-themed restaurant that was originally set to open earlier this year. It’s now expected to blast off in 2021. Here is a first look of the inside of Space 220.

Old Favorites Re-opening
Disney often closes attractions to do repairs or refurbishments, and a couple of classic attractions have been out of commission for a long time. PeopleMover and the Walt Disney World Railroad in Magic Kingdom have been down for extended periods of time, the Railroad for years due to TRON construction and the PeopleMover since mid-March (preclosure) for reasons unknown. Both of these classic attractions are set to re-open in 2021.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Coaster
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is going to be the first Marvel-themed attraction in Disney World. It is taking over the area that Ellen’s Universe of Energy once occupied in Future World in EPCOT. Construction is still ongoing, but the indoor coaster is set to open next year.

Tron Lightcycle Run
Tron is not usually the first movie that people think of when they think of Disney, but next year the Tron Lightcycle Run will be opening in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. This roller coaster will be partially indoors and partially outdoors. The ride vehicles are modeled after the iconic Lightcycles from the movie.
Returning to Normal Operation
This year has been difficult all over the world. Walt Disney World has been operating with limited capacity, and some experiences have been modified. Many people are looking forward to the parks returning to normal operation in time for the 50th Anniversary.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a new attraction coming to the France Pavilion in EPCOT. This is a long-anticipated attraction that is great for all ages. Remy’s uses a trackless system for the vehicles. There is also a version of this attraction in Disneyland Paris, and Disney World fans have been waiting a long time for the attraction to open. It was set to open in summer 2020, but it is now expected in early-2021.
