Although Disney World reopened this past summer, many of its dining locations have remained closed, including several in Animal Kingdom.

However, we’ve slowly seen dining locations and bars at Animal Kingdom beginning to reopen, including Dawa Bar and Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks. And now, one of the park’s quick-service dining locations has officially reopened.
We recently noticed that the previously closed Harambe Market had hours listed on the official Disney World website starting this weekend. So today, we visited to confirm that Harambe Market is officially open again!

Signs are set up showing the menu, as well as when the market will close for the day.

Like other quick-service locations throughout the park, there are also signs asking guests to use Mobile Order. We placed our order via mobile order and waited for it to be prepared.

Once your order is ready, you approach the pick-up window to retrieve your food.

Like other restaurants, condiments and cutlery are at self-serve stations.

Tables are spread out to maintain current health and safety guidelines for social distancing.

Once we had our meal, we sat down and dug in. We chose the Ribs and Chicken Bowl, along with the Simba cupcake.

The Ribs and Chicken Bowl ($14.29) is made of ribs and grilled chicken with cilantro rice and mixed greens, and topped with salsa. This was very fresh!

After such a healthy meal, though, we had to have dessert, which was the Simba Cupcake ($5.99). This cupcake is yellow cake with buttercream icing and a white chocolate mousse filling, topped with a white chocolate Simba face and a frosting mane. The sweet flavors mesh well, and it should please pretty much any cupcake lover.

According to the calendar on the Disney World website, Harambe Market is only going to be open on weekends, at least for the time being. We’ve seen other quick-service locations at Disney World start weekends-only, though, and eventually start opening every day. Harambe Market’s hours are currently 10AM to 3PM.
We’re pretty happy to have another quick-service option at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. If we spot any other re-openings, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Yes, I’ve eaten at Harambe Market, in the pre plague year of 2018. Had me a curry sausage on naam bread with cole slaw. I found the cole slaw a bit too spacy for my personal tastes, but the sausage was excellent, so overall, no complaints. I look forward to eating there again, hopefully next year.
