Although Disney World reopened this summer, many bars and restaurants at the resorts and theme parks have remained closed. But, slowly but surely, we are starting to see some of these locations open back up.

And just today, we stumbled across another bar that’s back in business: The Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom.
As you can see, despite the rainy weather, there was a small socially-distanced line in front of the bar, which resides in the Asia part of Animal Kingdom.

We also noticed plexiglass separators set up at the front of the bar. Only one side of the bar is currently open, although both sides for Trek Snacks is available.

The specialty cocktails menu is also the same as it was pre-closure.

The bar’s beer menu hasn’t changed. It still offers three draft beers, along with three bottled/canned beers.

We decided to get one of our favorite cocktails there, the Himalayan Ghost. It’s Snow Leopard vodka, guava, and Odwalla lemonade. It’s a drink that’s been around for a while, but we still like the delicious fruity vodka lemonade. It’s very refreshing.

Only one snack is currently available from the bar: the Simba pretzel. Again, this isn’t new, but we figured we might as well have a snack with our drink. The pretzel comes with a cheddar cheese-flavored dipping sauce. (Note that Trek Snacks has several ice cream treats and chip varieties available as well.)

The Disney World website still says that the Thirsty River Bar is closed. But for now, it’s definitely open. According to Cast Members, it will be open going forward until about an hour before the park closes each day.
We’ll keep you updated on any other reopenings we find around the park.
