As Disney’s parks and resorts around the world continue their phased reopening, we have been waiting for news and updates regarding Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa.

We can now confirm the grand reopening date for this stunning Disney Vacation Club property and resort, which has been closed since March!
Aulani will officially welcome back guests starting on November 1st, 2020!

Hawaii recently announced that the state will require a pre-arrival testing program for those traveling from out-of-state. Given the new mandate, Disney is working on a phased reopening of the resort. Much like the other Disney vacation destinations, health and safety regulations will be implemented at Aulani.

As stated from Disney, the “gradual, phased approach to reopening considers the guidance of local and national government and health authorities, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as the U.S. Travel Association and Disney’s team of health and safety experts.” Disney also stated that the phased reopening allows them to “evaluate and adjust along the way, as circumstances and the recommendations of health authorities evolve.”

Refunds and Cancellations
Guests may cancel resort reservations up to 24 hours prior to their vacation arrival date for stays through May 20th, 2021, and will not be charged any Disney-imposed cancellation fees. This temporary policy can be applied to room-only bookings and packages made with the Walt Disney Travel Company.
Cancellations (and no shows) for room-only bookings made less than 24 hours will be charged a fee equal to the first night’s room rate plus tax. Vacation package fees for late cancellations and no-shows made less than 24 hours are $400. Failure to check in to the hotel on the scheduled arrival date without timely prior notice of cancellation or change will be subject to these fees.

Any stays on or after May 21st, 2021 will adhere to the regular cancellation and refund policy:
Room only cancellations must be made at least 5 days prior to arrival. For cancellations made 4 days or less before arrival date (including no shows), a cancellation fee will be charged equivalent to the first night’s room rate plus tax. Failure to check in to the hotel on the scheduled arrival date without timely prior notice of cancellation or change will be subject to fees equivalent to the first night’s hotel rate plus tax.”
For a Walt Disney Travel Company vacation package—or if a guest has booked other travel components along with their room such as flight or car rental—the required notification timeframe is 30 days or more, with a $400 cancellation fee if notice is 29 days or less.
My son & I have reservations @ Aulani starting on Nov 1.Through research we found out that there will be NO Luau.Reason given is Hawaii’s gathering of 25 or more is against the rules. What’s a Hawaii trip without the best Luau on the Island?A Island trip! Not very Disney like.Earlier reservations were taken even though the hotel was closed. No apology was given for building up hopes.
