It is all but certain that the NBA will resume its 2019-2020 season at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Disney World.

To keep NBA players and staff safe, it has been reported that those participating in the games will be in isolation for the duration of the season. But this required isolation may extend beyond those directly involved with the NBA.

According to The Daily Beast, any reporter who chooses to cover the NBA season must also be “locked” inside the Disney World “bubble” for roughly three-and-a-half months. If the reporter chooses to leave this quarantine for whatever reason, they will not be allowed back in to continue reporting.

It appears as though there will be two “tiers” of reporters allowed in, with different levels of access. Tier one reporters will be under strict quarantine, tested daily, and will be allowed to interact with players and staff. Housing for these reporters, however, will not be covered by the NBA or by Disney.

The second tier of reporters would be allowed to attend the games, but will not be allowed anywhere else on the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex campus and will not be allowed to interact with players and staff. These media plans have yet to be finalized, although negotiations are currently in the works.
