Disney Pic of the Week: Full Service Restaurant

This month we have focused our Disney Pics of the Week around food. We started with snacks, then quick service and this week it is restaurants. I have numerous favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World, some have been in my top 5 for a very long time.

If you asked me my favorite place to dine over the last few years, I’m certain I would have said the Flying Fish Cafe. In addition to the signature dining experience I was always welcomed like a member of the family.

It is under a major renovation now and will open later this year. It certainly won’t look the same, but I hope it still has a familiar “feel”.

With the long rehab and closure, transitions occur. Some Cast Members have left Disney to pursue other interests, like Chef Tim Keating. I hear a few Cast Members may retire, and others have found new homes.

At the same time, lots of familiar faces will be at the Fish when it reopens and I look forward to seeing everyone again. Congrats to the new Chef Tim Majoras! I have many fond memories of Chef Tim and look forward to trying his new dishes.

I also look forward to being greeted by the smiles of the welcome team. Having my favorite barkeeps suggest a new wine to try. And of course, having Stig recommend one of his new wine finds that you can’t get anywhere else 🙂
