3 Disneyland Restaurants We Avoid at ALL COSTS

When it comes to theme park food, Disneyland Park has some of the best. But that doesn’t mean it’s perfect…

There is not a single Disneyland restaurant we will ever actively avoid. Here at AllEars, we’re all about testing out restaurant quality, trying new offerings, and becoming Disney foodie experts. With that said, we do have our favorites…and least favorites. If we are just exploring the parks on our own time and have the pick of the litter, there are a few Disneyland Park restaurants that we generally skip.

Alien Pizza Planet

Let’s give Alien Pizza Planet some credit before I rip into it. The Tomorrowland restaurant is trying and has slightly improved over the years. But compared to other offerings around the park, it simply remains in the bottom tier.

The pizza, pasta, and other eats here are safe, but not always the most flavorful. The idea of a Toy Story-themed restaurant is really cool, but the overpriced slices of pizza aren’t going to wow you.

This spot is just a safe, yet forgettable, quick-service restaurant. While some seasonal pizzas, desserts, and drinks pop up here from time to time, the general consensus is that you can find better value (and dishes) at other restaurants close by.

Galactic Grill

You don’t have to go very far for our next pick. Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland is the definition of “hit or miss.” This quick-service restaurant offers typical theme park fare like chicken tenders and burgers, and they’re fine. But, once again, this is all about comparisons — and Disney’s culinary team likes to introduce exciting options at most of its restaurants every year. Galactic Grill is just way too boring.

To Disney’s credit, they have introduced some really exciting seasonal offerings over the past few years, and breakfast here usually hits the right notes (this is one of my go-to spots early in the morning). But if we have to pick restaurants that are skippable, this is certainly one.

Mint Julep Bar

Over in New Orleans Square, the Mint Julep Bar is always popping. It serves up Mickey’s beignets, non-alcoholic mint juleps, and other beverages. People flock to this small spot for the beignets, of course, especially when there’s a tasty seasonal one being offered.

But that’s also a problem. This place is ALWAYS busy — and we’re not sure it’s justified. The beignets here are good, but the beignets at Beignets Expressed in Downtown Disney are WAY better. Plus, the mint juleps here aren’t exactly akin to the real deal. This is a good spot, but if you can head over to Downtown Disney for a bit, we’d recommend getting your beignets there instead.

The wait can be really bad there, as well, but the difference in quality is noticeable.

All in all, there is no disastrous Disneyland restaurant! The food here is consistently solid, and it’s actually really easy to find something you’ll like.
