Why You Might Want To AVOID Magic Kingdom on May 13th

Magic Kingdom is Disney World’s most visited park, which means so many vacations are planned around a Magic Kingdom day!

Disney World

On select days in May, the park will be closing early. Here’s what you need to know if you’re planning a Magic Kingdom visit this spring!

Magic Kingdom will be closing early on Wednesday, May 13th. The park will open at 9 AM with early entry at 8:30 AM per usual, but it will close early at 5:30 PM!

The park will be closed for a private buyout. The SAP Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference has rented the park for exclusive access for the night. On the conference’s website, it says they’ll be hosting a “Celebration Night at Magic Kingdom” from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

Space Mountain

The special night will let conference attendees enjoy iconic attractions, beloved Disney characters, delicious food, and a private concert by one of the newest inductees to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Dave Matthews Band!

Liberty Square

SAP Sapphire has frequently bought out Walt Disney World. Notably, they rented out Hollywood Studios for the entire night in 2024 with a private concert by pop-rock band Maroon 5.

If you’re headed to Magic Kingdom in May, the early closure on Wednesday, May 13th, could massively affect your trip. The park closing early means there will be no fireworks, night parades, or other nighttime entertainment offered that day! If you only have a one-day ticket, we recommend visiting Magic Kingdom on a different day.

Happily Ever After

But if you’re an Annual Passholder or have a Park Hopper ticket, heading to Magic Kingdom before the early closure could be more beneficial! The park typically sees significantly lower crowds and ride wait times.

Personally, we’re heading to Magic Kingdom for shorter wait times. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Magic Kingdom news!
