According to Good Morning America, one classic drink has been regaining popularity recently: the Shirley Temple. I don’t know about you, but this drink brings back all sorts of nostalgic memories. I always felt like royalty when my parents let me order a Shirley Temple at a restaurant. From the bright color to the maraschino cherry garnish and all the bubbles, the drink just makes you feel special.

Well, the classic Shirley Temple is making a comeback! Non-alcoholic beverage options have started to take over the market, and now the Shirley Temple is moving into the spotlight, too. The Shirley Temple is one of the original mocktails and has been a tried-and-true option for people looking for a fun drink without alcohol.
The Shirley Temple is named after the child star. She wanted something to sip on like her parents, so the restaurant came up with a non-alcoholic version to serve to the star. According to TIME, there isn’t a concrete answer to which restaurant created the iconic Shirley Temple; some say Chasen’s, others say the Brown Derby Restaurant, and others say the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. The drink is made with a lemon-lime soda (or sometimes ginger ale), some grenadine, and a maraschino cherry as garnish.

The Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios serves up its own Shirley Temple, and servers there will claim that the Brown Derby Restaurant in Hollywood was the birthplace of this beloved drink. But even though its exact origins are not known for sure, there is one thing that is certain: this drink has stood the test of time!

The Shirley Temple is now the IN drink for 2026, and brands like Olipop and Poppi have already released their own versions of the classic drink. Olipop’s Shirley Temple is described as “the original mocktail, reimagined” with tart cherry, white grape, lemon, and lime. Poppi’s is described as “a bright mix of citrus and soft grenadine-style cherry sweetness with a bold, clean finish.”

Could the popularity of this trend mean that more Shirley Temple drinks will make their way to Disney World? Only time will tell! Disney loves to take advantage of food trends like Dubai chocolate, freeze-dried Skittles, and Ube flavor, so we wouldn’t be surprised if more Shirley Temples start to appear in Disney World. While you can already find some Shirley Temples in Disney World — most notably at the Hollywood Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios — this could mean more will start appearing on menus.

We have already noticed the arrival of more mocktails and non-alcoholic options at Disney World and other theme parks. Our very own JP has made it her mission to try as many mocktails as she can around the theme parks! She has been on a roll recently, trying 7 mocktails in Disney World and 8 mocktails at Universal’s new Epic Universe.

We are always on the lookout for news that might impact your next Disney World trip, and we are always in the parks looking for the latest tips and tricks. Make sure to stay tuned to AllEars for more!
