Is Universal Orlando Building a NEW Ride? Here’s What the Paperwork Says

Universal is on a roll and cannot be stopped!

We keep an eye out for everything happening in the theme parks so we can bring the best details back for you, and Universal Orlando just filed a new permit that could mean a new attraction is on its way.

The permit filed is for “specialty equipment” and is in Islands of Adventure near the Lost Continent area. It’s tiled with Intamin as a contractor who has made tons of roller coasters we know and love, like Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure…

…and Jurassic World ValociCoaster.

Don’t forget Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.

They even made Hiccup’s Wing Gliders in Epic Universe! They’ve also done work at Universal Studios Hollywood, like the in-progress Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, rides at Sea World, Busch Gardens, and Hersheypark, so they know their way around in the theme park world.

Since it’s so close to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Hogsmeade, we’re hoping (and begging) that this is another Harry Potter attraction. While the manufacturer is known for their roller coasters, they’ve also made other theme park attractions like ferris wheels and dark rides (you know, those slow-moving, family-friendly dark rides where there’s so much to see?). So it doesn’t have to be a roller coaster, but a new attraction is likely.

Back in 1990, they worked on E.T. Adventure (for Universal Studios Florida, Hollywood, and Japan, but the Florida one is the only one to remain open) and Jaws, so they’ve been working with Universal for a long time, producing some rides we’ll remember forever.

Universal hasn’t announced any new information about a potential new ride, but that doesn’t mean we won’t stop hoping once we see permits being filed. Make sure you keep following AllEars for updates on your favorite theme parks.
