You might get pretty turned around and confused the next time you’re in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The park is going through two fairly big changes right now — the transformation of DinoLand, U.S.A. into a Tropical Americas land, and the construction surrounding the Tree of Life as the park prepares for Zootopia: Better Zoogether! The latter one is definitely affecting pathways around Discovery Island, and now it has caused the Up character meet and greet to move to a new location.
If you’ve been to Discovery Island in the past few years, then you’ve probably walked past the Dug and Russell meet and greet near the entrance to It’s Tough to be a Bug. But with that show having closed to make way for the new Zootopia show, construction in the area has caused the meet and greet to move.

Instead of the Wilderness Explorers-themed clubhouse, you’ll need to head to the back of the Tree of Life. You can see the location listed in the My Disney Experience app. Simply click on the map, then sort by characters and filter to see Animal Kingdom.

Some of these Discovery Island Trails are closed due to construction, but at this time, those on the left side of the tree remain open. You’ll enter the pathway over by Creature Comforts. We’ve seen some character meets back here in the past.

When you pull up the character map in the app, you can find their times listed for the meet and greet. On the day we stopped by, they were meeting together for each set, though we can’t promise this will always happen. You may want to get in line a few minutes early for whichever set time you choose.

And for any Pixar fans out there, we highly recommend this as a stop during your Animal Kingdom day! These aren’t characters you can see in many places, and they were a delight to meet. We got some really great hugs!

We’ll make sure to keep you in the loop with any more changes in Animal Kingdom.
Stay tuned to AllEars for the latest.
