REVIEW: Forget PSL, This Is The Pumpkin Treat You Want In Disney World

Okay, we’ll admit that we’ve been kinda’ in the whole fall mood and eating and drinking pumpkin EVERYTHING in Disney World.

Pumpkin Macaron

Pumpkin Spice Latte? Oh, yeah, we ordered it the first day it was available. Pumpkin Cheesecake on a stick? OH, yeah, we shoved that into our face. Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Roll Cake? We ran to The Cake Bake Shop to grab it. So one of our favorite things to get in EPCOT is the Pumpkin Ice Cream at L’Artisan des Glaces, but this year, there’s only one way to get it…sandwiched in a macaron. So yep, we just got the Pumpkin Macaron!

In years past, you could usually just order the Pumpkin ice cream flavor in a bowl or cone, but this year, we were told that the only way to get it is with the Pumpkin Macaron (the seasonal macaron at L’Artisan des Glaces). So we hopped on over to the France Pavilion to try The macaron out for $8.95. What you get is one of the big pumpkin macarons with half pumpkin ice cream and half vanilla ice cream in the middle.

There it is!

It looks like the flavors were frozen like that, just half and half and then they put it on the pumpkin macaron. That means that when you get it the ice cream is VERY hard, although the macaron is soft, so it’s kinda’ hard to bite into it. The macaron itself tastes very sugary, more than we really like, although the ice cream does mellow it out.

Wait a bit before biting in

We also liked how the pumpkin ice cream and vanilla ice cream seems to balance the flavors out. The ice cream has a stronger pumpkin flavor than the macaron, too, so you don’t miss out on that classic pumpkin flavor. Although this treat is a bit pricey, it’s still unique enough that we can recommend it if you happen to visit Disney World this time of year.
