REVIEW: These Hidden Magic Kingdom Snacks Will Have People Asking “Where Did You Get That?”

Dining at Disney World is an adventure all on its own. Need a quick bite between rides? Done. Looking for something familiar and satisfying? Absolutely. Feeling like splurging on a fancier meal? Disney has you covered there, too — no matter what you’re craving, there’s a spot ready to hit the sweet (or savory) spot.

The infamous turkey leg

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by Prince Eric’s Village Market at Magic Kingdom and are bringing you our FULL review!

Background

The stand takes inspiration from the world of The Little Mermaid, bringing a touch of seaside charm to the heart of the park.

Prince Eric’s Village Market

Though it’s compact in size, the market offers a variety of convenient, “better-for-you” snacks like fresh fruit and chilled beverages, along with more indulgent park favorites like frozen slushes and the occasional Turkey Leg. During certain seasons, you might even spot unique treats themed to The Little Mermaid, making it a small but memorable stop for those exploring Fantasyland.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.

Atmosphere

Nestled in the shadows of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Prince Eric’s Village Market feels like a quaint seaside cart transported right into Fantasyland. It’s small, open-air, and brimming with charm — the kind of place where you can pause for a moment and soak in the bustle of the park around you.

Step right up!

Nautical props and weathered wood accents tie in beautifully with The Little Mermaid’s oceanic theme, giving it a subtle seaside flair. It’s casual, convenient, and just whimsical enough to remind you you’re snacking in the middle of a fairytale.

The menu

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

First up, we grabbed the classic Turkey Leg for $16.99. This is a standard rotisserie-style turkey leg served with a side of chips.

Turkey Leg

The turkey leg at Disney World has become somewhat of a staple snack to grab when you’re visiting the parks, contrary to the menu classifying it as an entree. It’s certainly big enough to qualify as an entree, and the included side of chips helps strengthen that argument, but don’t be surprised to hear that most people within the store call it a snack because it’s walkability scores so highly.

See? We’re already somewhere else

Its smoky taste and juicy texture know just how to cure you when the usual savory options just won’t do. The hickory-smoked meat is cooked just enough that you could swear it just came out of a wooden smokehouse where it had been curing. While the skin is cooked along with it, it peels right off with each bite, offering up flavorful juices and that extra bit of chewiness your heart desires.

A bite out of the turkey leg

It’s easy to see why it has become such an iconic snack to grab when the hunger pains set in and how easily it can be shared between two to three people at a time (which definitely helps justify its higher price when you can maximize the number of people it’s able to feed). It’s also become a popular snack to step into long lines with to keep from feeling like you’re wasting valuable time sitting down to eat when you can get a whole “meal” on the go.

We also grabbed the Jumbo Pretzel with cheese sauce for $13.49. This is (you guessed it) a gigantic salted pretzel served with a side cup of cheese sauce.

Jumbo Pretzel with cheese sauce

Another GREAT snack that delivers in the walkability department. It’s gigantic, truly, there’s no denying that, and we found ours to be a bit less tough to bite into than some of those smaller, standard Mickey pretzels you can snag at just about any snack cart. For serious savory snackers, this is the pretzel built for you!

Even cut in half, it’s still BIG

But what really sets this one apart is its cheese sauce. You already know we’re suckers for a good sauce or dip, and this cheese sauce isn’t quite like several of the others you can find around the park. The cheese sauce that accompanies this jumbo pretzel has a little more added to it. It’s got some extra spices and herbs to it that might give you a reminiscent feel of some ranch-like seasoning added to it.

Dipped into the cheese sauce

The cheese sauce is served on the side so you can dip it with as much or as little as you wish with your bite, and it’s a tad thicker than you might think a traditional cheese sauce should be. Our only nitpick about this cheese sauce is that we felt like the sauce cup for such a giant pretzel was a bit shallower than we would have liked for such a large pretzel. Could this have perhaps been more of a wishful thinking on our part, or truly disproportionate? You be the judge. You can always ask to get another cup!

To drink, we picked up the Seaside Serenade for $6.79. This is made of piña colada slushy topped with curaçao syrup and blue boba pearls.

Seaside Serenade

This was very pina colada forward in the taste, but like any carbonated slushy-afficianado might find in other slushies, it did have that bubbly bite of carbonation that lingered around the top layer of the drink. The boba pearls in the drink were heavier than the melting slush, so they very quickly sank to the bottom, and while they didn’t add a whole lot of flavor on their own, they lent a hand in helping taper in somewhat of a blue curaçao taste into the otherwise pina colada-heavy drink.

Very pina colada forward

If you’re someone who loves slushes and is looking for a different kind of taste to a frozen treat aside from the more traditional flavors of blue raspberry, Coca-Cola, and cherry that you’ll typically find around snack stands, this was a welcome alternative!

Magic or Tragic?

This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…

  • You’re looking for a quick, refreshing stop inside Fantasyland. If you’re already exploring Fantasyland, this is one of the easiest grab-and-go spots. It’s perfect for cooling off between attractions like Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
  • You’re looking for lighter, fresher snack options. Compared to the usual treats, this stand often offers fruit, cold drinks, and simple snacks. It’s a nice break from churros and ice cream if you want something that won’t weigh you down.
  • You’re looking for a shorter line. Because it’s a smaller stop and not the most “famous” snack location, wait times here are typically minimal — which is a win when you’re navigating Magic Kingdom!

You should skip this Disney World spot if…

  • You’re not looking to be tied down to a limited menu. If you’re craving something fun, iconic, or Instagram-worthy, this probably isn’t the place. The offerings are pretty basic, and the menu changes often.
  • You’re looking to dine somewhere with seating. It’s strictly a walk-up counter, and Fantasyland walkway traffic can be intense. If you’re looking to sit, rest, or escape the crowds, this won’t give you that break.
  • You’re looking for a snack that’s uniquely “Disney.” Compared to spots like Gaston’s Tavern or Storybook Treats, Prince Eric’s Village Market doesn’t have signature items or theming worth going out of your way for. It’s more of a convenience stop than a “must-do.”

Honestly, this is a little “hole in the wall” snack stand that has gone unappreciated for years. Those who know about it seem to keep it as one of their best-kept secrets, while those who happen upon it or see someone walking away with something you can grab here are instantly intrigued to browse the menu. While it’s true we think there’s room for improvement, like standing tables to keep from heading to the picnic-style table seats at nearby restaurants, it’s also understandable that this place sells food and drink that wouldn’t require you to feel compelled to sit down to enjoy it.

In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more!

  1. There might be some debate as to whether the turkey leg is an official “snack” – or perhaps a SINO (Snack In Name Only) – but I guess the important question is, does the Dining Plan consider it a snack? Can a snack credit be applied toward a $16.99 turkey leg? If so, that’s a legit Dining Plan bargain right there!
