A Disney World Hotel Perk Is Set To Change in 2026

We’re losing a major Disney World hotel perk in 2026.

Typhoon Lagoon

It’s been a busy year at Disney World, and it was awesome getting to experience the first full year of the resort’s new hotel water park perk! The perk lets guests staying at Disney World hotels get FREE access to a Disney water park on the day of their check-in. However, that’s all going to change in 2026, when the perk is amended.

Throughout the year, guests could visit Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach on the first day of their trip. The main limitation revolved around which park was open (you could choose one if they both were open), along with the fact that you had to get to Disney World early enough to enjoy the perk. However, Disney is introducing more limitations to this perk in 2026.

Blizzard Beach

While it is returning next year, it will do so in a limited capacity.

According to Disney, the free water park perk will ONLY be available next year in the summer  not the entire year.

Disney has yet to share the exact dates when this perk change will take effect, but we’ll keep you in the loop when it’s announced.

Blizzard Beach

While this benefited a lot of Disney fans in 2025, it also left many divided. Disney’s water parks aren’t open particularly late, so if you want to use this perk, you have to get to the resort fairly early. If you’re flying from out of state and rather far away, unless you take a red-eye, chances are you may miss prime water perk hours. Even more so, you may be so tired that you don’t really want to travel to a water park on the same day of your arrival.

We’re betting a lot of guests have no intention of using this perk, and with the summer limitations being set in 2026, complaints may only escalate.

  1. I actually enjoyed this perk very much. I used it three times in 2025 years. I like to catch the earliest flight into MCO when I travel and it was nice to kill time waiting for my room to be ready while floating kin the lazy river! Too bad it’s only for summer in 2026 as the weather is definitely temperate enough to use the perk in Spring & Fall.

  2. We stayed at an offsite cheap hotel on arrival then used the free ticket the next day when checking in at Pop Century. So we got to Typhoon Lagoon at park open. It was nice to spend the whole day but that cheap offsite hotel was truly horrible never staying there again one night was even too long to stay there.

  3. As someone planning to visit in January or February, and not flying in until late evening, the perk really isn’t a perk. Just like the article stated, a lot of people are either tired from traveling or are coming in later, and therefore it’s hardly a perk at all. I wish they would choose something else that more people could actually use.
