No matter how much planning you put into having the perfect Disney World trip, things can still go awry.

There could be traffic on the road, your favorite ride could malfunction, and you might even be late to a reservation or two (it happens!). And, on rare occasions, Disney’s incredible nighttime fireworks spectaculars might be canceled altogether.
Disney World’s nighttime spectaculars are the best in the biz — night after night, they bring wonder, joy, and yes, sometimes tears, to thousands of people. But, you might want to be aware of this problem if you’re planning on checking out Luminous: The Symphony of Us at EPCOT.

Recently, Luminous was canceled at EPCOT due to an unforeseen problem. Folks in the park received this push notification from the My Disney Experience app:

Our sources spoke with a nearby EPCOT Cast Member who advised that the cancelation was because of an issue with the drawbridge — it didn’t want to go up!

If the bridge isn’t functioning properly, Cast Members can’t get the barges and other equipment to the middle of World Showcase Lagoon for the fireworks show. If Disney can’t fix the problem quickly, it will ultimately result in them having to cancel the show.

While there is still plenty to see and do around EPCOT and Disney World, this can be especially disappointing if you were looking forward to some fun pyrotechnics and music.
Disney will sometimes also cancel fireworks shows for safety reasons — if the weather is particularly bad (whether that be rain, wind, or both), there’s a likelihood that there might not be fireworks that night.

Speaking of nighttime entertainment at Disney World, a NEW nighttime parade is coming to Magic Kingdom this summer. Get ready for Disney Starlight!

The parade is set to premiere this summer and will introduce some beautiful new floats to Magic Kingdom, lighting up the night with both classic and modern Disney characters. You’ll see floats featuring Peter Pan, Frozen, Encanto, and more.

Disney has not yet revealed a specific opening date for the parade, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for it. Of course, there’s even MORE to look forward to in Magic Kingdom this year, too, including the opening of the Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern, set to happen later this year.

If you’re looking to have the PERFECT DAY at EPCOT, make sure you check out the AllEars TV video below. In the meantime, don’t forget to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more.
