Here's When You Can Watch 'Moana 2' on Disney+!

This year is a big one for Disney movies, and it’s only February!

We’ve got Marvel’s new Fantastic Four movie coming out later this year, and they just released Captain America: Brave New World in theaters a few weeks ago. But some people have been waiting for some of the company’s late 2024 films to become available online for streaming, and we’ve got great news — Moana 2 will officially be released on Disney+ on March 12th!

Moana 2 will be released on Disney+ for subscribers to watch to their heart’s content on March 12th, 2025. The film was originally released in theaters on November 27th, 2024, and made box office history by having the highest global box office debut for an animated movie ever.

According to CNBC, the film made $442.8 million domestically and surpassed $1 billion globally. While some Disney fans have given mixed reviews of the film, many are thrilled to hear it’ll be available to watch at home in under a month!

The sequel to the beloved original film was originally developed as a TV series, but was changed to be a film in strategic decision to maximize profitability and revenue. The film “reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.”

The film was directed by David G. Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller and music was done by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear. Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson both returned to voice Moana and Maui respectively. Additionally, the cast also includes Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda, Temuera Morrison, Nicole Scherzinger, David Fane, Hualālai Chung, and Rose Matafeo.
