There’s nothing worse than going on your Disney World vacation and seeing that one of your favorite rides is down.

The problem is that it happens pretty much every day, and sometimes there are MULTIPLE ride closures in one day in one park. That’s why we say to have a few different backup plans to make sure your whole day doesn’t get derailed. We track how often rides go down to help you potentially plan for what rides may have trouble on your trip, and let’s just say we’re a little surprised by some of the closures that happened this past month.
Magic Kingdom
Imagine our surprise seeing that The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh had the MOST closures in the ENTIRETY of Disney World with 52 times in 22 days.

Next in line was the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, which also isn’t a ride we would have expected to see go down so often! It went down a total of 35 times in 20 days, which is high by almost all standards. However, we have noticed that our past few times riding the moving walkways that get you up and down the ride have been down, which often makes them harder to navigate — it’s possible more guests may have had trouble getting up and down and that’s caused the ride to close more often.

We weren’t surprised however to see Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on here with 34 closures in 22 days. This ride has had issues since it opened, and we think with all the water and technology aspects together, it’ll continue to be a problem.
EPCOT
We were NOT expecting to see The Seas with Nemo & Friends close the most in EPCOT — 30 times in 21 days. This ride has a relatively simple system, but it does have a lot of screens that can malfunction, and that moving walkway also can trip people up often.

Second on the list is Frozen Ever After with 27 closures in 18 days. This ride has a lot of new technology that often acts up, so keep a close eye on this one when you’re visiting.

The same goes for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which closed 25 times in 18 days — this is a trackless dark ride which means, while really cool, it’s also prone to more tech issues.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Highest on the closure list in Hollywood Studios we have another trackless dark ride — Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway with 36 closures in 20 days. Same rule applies here — more advanced tech equals more issues!

Which is also why Rise of the Resistance ends up on this list practically every month. This past month, it closed 31 times in 19 days, which is a lot, but not as bad as it could have been.

Slinky Dog Dash also ends up on this list almost every month due to how popular it is. This past month it closed 22 times in 14 days.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Now here’s where we’re really scratching our heads — TriceraTop Spin closed a whopping 32 times in 19 days. This is just the Dumbo of Animal Kingdom, how in the WORLD does it close so often? It’s getting ready to go away in less than two months, which we’re sad about, but with how it’s been performing recently, maybe it’s ready for its retirement.

Meanwhile, the MASSIVE coaster in the park, Expedition Everest, only closed 25 times in 17 days. That’s not nothing, for sure, but it’s impressive considering it’s been around for decades and almost got torn apart by the Yeti in A mode. It can take a minute whenever it needs to, in our book.
