NEWS: Disney Adds Massive NEW Construction Wall in Magic Kingdom

When Disney announced that Villains Land would finally be coming to Magic Kingdom, fans were ecstatic. Disney confirmed that the new land will be located in the space behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and we expect to see construction start in this area soon. Oh, and speaking of Big Thunder Mountain, Disney also confirmed that the ride will close for one year for an extended refurbishment. Now, it looks like construction has officially begun!

When we hopped on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad recently, we noticed that a new scrim is up, hiding the fact that construction has likely started behind the ride!

Thanks to the way the sun was hitting the scrim, we could see construction vehicles parked back there.

While we still have a loooong way to go until Villains Land is ready in the park and Big Thunder Mountain construction is complete, we’re excited to see that the process has begun! As a reminder, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed for refurbishment for at least an entire year starting on January 6th, 2025 with a reopening date expected sometime in 2026.
